Subject: Anti-Money Laundering Council Registration and Training Requirements
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, through the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Institute (BSPI), is pleased to announce the schedule of briefings it will conduct for the year 2006 for pawnshops on The Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001, as amended, and its Reportorial Procedures for the year 2006. The briefings will be conducted every Monday and Friday starting on 22 May 2006. Attached is the tentative schedule and venue of the briefings.
These offerings will be free of charge. Participants will be limited to a maximum of 50 per offering. Each pawnshop will be allowed to send two participants per offering. The participants shall be limited to the owners, managing partners, president, compliance officer or person occupying other positions of equivalent rank. An accomplished nomination form (copy attached) for each participant should reach the BSPI not later than three weeks before the start of each offering. The policy of “no accomplished nomination form – no acceptance” shall be strictly enforced. Moreover, acceptance to the course shall be on a “first come – first served” basis. Nominees are advised to get confirmation of their acceptance from the BSPI not later than two weeks before the start of the course; otherwise, their slots will be given to those in the waiting list.
