SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. GILBERT S. OBMINA

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the dispositive portion of the Decision of the First Division dated 21 April 2009 , in Administrative Case No. 7813 entitled, "Carlito P. Carandang vs. Atty. Gilbert S. Obmina ", to wit:

"WHEREFORE, the Court AFFIRMS the resolution of the IBP Board of Governors approving and adopting the report and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner. Accordingly, Atty. Gilbert S. Obmina is found GUILTY of violation of Canon 18 and of Rules 18.03 and 18.04 of the Code of Professional Responsibility. The Court SUSPENDS Atty. Gilbert S. Obmina from the practice of Saw for one year, and WARNS him that a repetition of the same or similar offense will be dealt with more severely."

Respondent received the said Decision on 27 May 200 per Registry Return Receipt No. 51993.
