Reminder to Verify the Authenticity of Electronically Issued Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Documents for Foreign Exchange (FX) Transactions under the Manual of Regulations on Foreign Exchange Transactions (FX Manual), as amended

M-2022- ___ 017 OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR MONETARY AND ECONOMICS SECTOR To : All Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) and Subsidiary/Affiliate Foreign Exchange Corporations of AABs (AAB Forex Corps) Subject : Reminder to Verify the Authenticity of Electronically Issued Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Documents for Foreign Exchange (FX) Transactions under the Manual of Regulations on Foreign Exchange Transactions (FX Manual), as amended As provided under item II.9 of Circular No. 1080 dated 27 March 2020 on BSP’s operational relief measures for FX transactions under the FX Manual, all BSP-issued documents [e.g., Bangko Sentral Registration Document (BSRD) and Implementing Letter] will be in electronic form for the duration of “community quarantine”1 declared by the OP, or as may be extended by the BSP. Relative thereto, all AABs/AAB forex corps are hereby reminded to verify with the BSP-International Operations Department (IOD) via electronic mail the authenticity of the copy of the electronically issued document sent by the FX purchaser prior to FX sale, indicating therein the BSRD No./Reference No., date issued, borrower/investor, creditor/investee, and amount/shares registered/approved (as applicable).
