AN ACT DECLARING OCTOBER 27 OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL WORKING HOLIDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF SARANGANI IN RECOGNITION OF THE UNIQUE CONTRIBUTION OF THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF SARANGANI TO THE RICH AND DIVERSE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled: SECTION 1. October 27 of every year is hereby declared a special working holiday in the Province of Sarangani in recognition of the unique contribution of the indigenous peoples of Sarangani to the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the province and of the country. Upon proclamation of the President, October 27 of every year year shall be a special non-working holiday in the said province.

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on December 13, 2022, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on December 17, 2024, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on January 28, 2025.
