Subject: Barclays Bank PLC Philippines Representative Office - Notice of the Actual Date of Opening and Commencement of its Operation
The Monetary Board, in its Resolution No. 1353 dated 17 October 2008, approved the application of the Barclays Bank PLC, a bank organized under the laws of the United Kingdom, to establish a representative office (RO) in the Philippines carrying the corporate name "Barclays Bank PLC Philippines Representative Office".
As a liaison office of the Bank which deals directly with the public, its function shall be limited only to promoting and giving information about Barclays Bank PLC's services/products offered and shall not include those of its affiliates.
The corresponding Certificate of Authority issued to Barclays Bank PLC was signed by the Governor on 14 November 2008 and its representative office commenced operation effective 4 February 2009.
