SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF ATTY. RAMON F. NIEVA FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR TWO (2) YEARS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Decision dated 6 September 2016 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 8560, entitled “Carrie-Anne Shaleen Carlyle S. Reyes v. Atty. Ramon F. Nieva,” to wit:

WHEREFORE, respondent Atty. Ramon F. Nieva is found GUILTY of violating Rule 1.01, Canon 1, and Rule 7.03, Canon 7 of the Code of Professional Responsibility. Accordingly, he is hereby SUSPENDED from the practice of law for a period of two (2) years, effective upon the finality of this Decision, with a STERN WARNING that a repetition of the same or similar acts will be dealt with more severely.

In a Resolution dated 10 January 2017, the Court further DENIED with FINALITY the respondent's motion for reconsideration. Per Registry Return Receipt No. 9921, respondent thru Shirly S.S. Sumandig, received a copy of the Resolution dated 10 January 2017 on 6 February 2017.
