REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE Quezon City August 23, 2006 REVENUE MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 53-2006 TO : Assistant Commissioners, Regional Directors, RDC Heads, Revenue SUBJECT District Officers and other officers concerned : Celebration of the 17th National Statistics Month in October, 2006 Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 declaring the month of October of every year as the National Statistics Month, the 17th National Statistics Month (NSM) will be celebrated in October, 2006. The theme for this year's celebration is "Empowering Consumers Through Responsive Energy Statistics". The celebration is a nationwide event. All government agencies and their respective regions/field offices are requested to join the celebration through various activities such as symposia, workshops, orientation seminars, exhibits, slide shows, and publication of statistical reports, indicators, and other relevant information, among others, with particular emphasis on the theme. Each Revenue Regional and District Office is requested to provide their own NSM streamer to be displayed at their building fa�ade throughout the month of October. BIR employees may coordinate with the participating agencies in their respective areas for their specific activity that they may want to get involved in. Attached is the NSCB Memorandum Circular No. 01-06 as well as the NSM streamer format for your information and guidance. You are hereby encouraged to participate in the said activity.
