Subject:  Extension of the Campaign Period for the "Tulong Barya para sa Eskwela" Coin Recirculation Project

The campaign period for the "Tulong Barya para sa Eskwela" Coin Circulation Project for the benefit of public elementary schools has been extended to 31 December 2006.

Accordingly, all participating banks are strongly encouraged to sustain their support in this multi-sectoral project in line with the implementing guidelines ( ), as revised and agreed upon by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Department of Education (DepEd), the Philippine Retailers' Association (PRA) and the banking community led by the Bankers' Association of the Philippines, Chamber of Thrift Banks, and the Rural Bankers Association.

It is understood that the account(s) under the name "Tulong Barya para sa Eskwela" should be maintained until such time that the entire proceeds of subject accounts have been fully remitted, thru the bank association concerned, to the Department of Education.
