CIRCULAR LETTER Series of 2003
TO: ALL RURAL AND COOPERATIVE BANKS
The Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas, through the Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas Institute (BSPI), is pleased to announce the schedule of courses it will conduct for rural and cooperative banks for the year 2003 as follows:
1. BSP Institute, 17th Floor, Multi-Storey Building, Manila
Basic Rural Banking Course (BRBC) -two groups per offering
* March 24 - April 4, 2003 * August 18 - 29, 2003 * November 24 - December 5, 2003
The offerings will be free of charge. Participants will be limited to a maximum of 50 per group. Each bank will be allowed a total of four participants per offering. Nomination of participants should reach the BSPI not later than three weeks before the start of each offering. The policy of “no accomplished nomination form - no acceptance” shall be strictly enforced. Acceptance to the course shall be on a “first come-first sewed” basis. Nominees are advised to get confirmation of their acceptance from the BSPI not later than two weeks before the start of the course; otherwise, their slots will be given to those in the waiting list.
2. Co-hosting Scheme
The co-hosting scheme will have the following set-up:
The local host bank or federation shall bear the following training expenses, i.e., training venue, honoraria, board and lodging of resource persons and coordinator and reproduction of materials, etc. It shall also ensure that the course venue is conducive to learning, that is, the training and workshop rooms are well ventilated/lighted and will accommodate comfortably at most fifty participants.
Rural and cooperative banks planning to sponsor the BRBC under the co-hosting scheme may send their applications to the BSPI not later than February 28, 2003.
In serving requests for training, priority shall be given to events hosted by federations and/or group of banks, vis-a-vis individual banks, so as to encourage participation from a wider base of local banks.
Attached is the tentative schedule of courses for the year 2003.
