REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6289 - AN ACT ESTABLISHING A LIMNOLOGICAL STATION AT LAKE MAINIT, MUNICIPALITY OF KITCHARAO, PROVINCE OF AGUSAN DEL NORTE AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. A limnological station is hereby established at Lake Mainit, Municipality of Kitcharao, Province of Agusan del Norte, to study the physical, chemical, biographical and geographical aspects of our lakes and ponds, unexplored since time immemorial.

SEC. 2. The sum of two hundred thousand pesos is hereby appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the establishment, operation and maintenance of the said limnological station for the fiscal year nineteen hundred seventy-one. Thereafter, such sum as may be necessary for its operation and maintenance shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
