REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8965 - AN ACT RECLASSIFYING THE SUB-DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE IN THE CITY OF PUERTO PRINCESA, PROVINCE OF PALAWAN, INTO A REGULAR ENGINEERING DISTRICT OFFICE TO BE KNOWN AS THE THIRD ENGINEERING DISTRICT OF PALAWAN

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The present sub-district engineering office in the City of Puerto Princesa, Province of Palawan, created pursuant to Department Order No. 131 dated 08 July 1994, issued by the Secretary of Public Works and Highways, is hereby upgraded into a regular engineering district to be known as the Third Engineering District of Palawan, covering as its jurisdiction the City of Puerto Princesa.

SEC. 2. The Secretary of Public Works and Highways shall issue the necessary rules, orders and circulars to implement the provisions of this Act.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was finally passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on December 15, 1998 and May 15, 2000, respectively.
