AN ACT RENAMING BARANGAY SAN ISIDRO IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF LUPON, PROVINCE OF DAVAO ORIENTAL AS BARANGAY ERNESTO D. VIOLAN

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Barangay San Isidro in the Municipality of Lupon, Province of Davao Oriental is hereby renamed as Barangay Ernesto D. Violan.

SEC. 2. The renaming of Barangay San Isidro as Barangay Ernesto D. Violan shall be effective upon ratification of the majority of the votes cast by qualified voters in a plebiscite to be conducted and supervised by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in the present Barangay San Isidro, Municipality of Lupon, Province of Davao Oriental in compliance with Section 13(g) of Republic Act No. 7160, as amended, otherwise known as the “Local Government Code of 1991”.

The expenses for such plebiscite shall be borne by the Municipality of Lupon, Province of Davao Oriental.

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act which originated in the House of Representatives was passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate of the Philippines on March 17, 2021 and December 16, 2021, respectively.
