Savings Consciousness Week

CIRCULAR LETTER Series of 1997

TO : All Banking Institutions

Under amended Presidential Proclamation No. 380 dated 15 May 1994 (copy attached), the period 30 June to 6 July 1994 and every year thereafter, is declared Savings Consciousness Week in order to promote a continuing awareness in the minds of our people the vital role of savings in the country's economic progress and development.

To insure the successful observance of Savings Consciousness Week, relevant publicity and attention-generating activities from the banking sector will be essential elements thereof. All banking institutions and their branches, therefor, may undertake during the said week such activities as raffles, distribution of give-aways, putting up of window or counter displays, streamers, ad placements and the use of other promotional devices and incentives as may be appropriate for this special occasion. For purposes of a unified campaign banks are requested to incorporate this year's theme "Savings as a Pillar of Sustainable Growth" and the words "Savings Consciousness Week" in their promotional materials and print advertisements during the period.
