REPUBLIC ACT NO. 6540 - AN ACT AMENDING SECTION FOUR OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FIFTY-NINE HUNDRED NINETY-NINE, ENTITLED "AN ACT CREATING THE SUB-PROVINCE OF SAMAL IN THE PROVINCE OF DAVAO."

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled: SECTION 1. Section four of Republic Act Numbered Fifty-nine hundred ninety-nine is hereby amended to read as follows:

"The corporate existence of the Subprovince of Samal in the Province of Davao shall commence when the first lieutenant governor shall have been elected in the next general elections in nineteen hundred seventy-three and shall have qualified."

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval. Enacted without the Executive approval, August 26, 1972.
