SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. AMERICO H. ACOSTA FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR THREE (3) MONTHS
For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 6 February 2018 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 11824, entitled "Roberto Prado, Erlinda Prado, Gloria Prado-Visperas, Patricio Prado, Jr. and Edna Prado v. Atty. Americo H. Acosta)," to wit:
WHEREFORE, Atty. Americo H. Acosta is found GUILTY of violating the Canon 10 and Rule 10.01 of the Code .of Professional Responsibility. The Court hereby SUSPENDS him from the practice of law for three (3) months effective immediately, with a STERN WARNING that the repetition of a similar violation will be dealt with even more severely. He is DIRECTED to report the date of his receipt of this Resolution to enable this Court to determine when his suspension shall take effect.
Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the Office of the Bar Confidant to be entered into respondent Atty. Americo H. Acosta's records. Copies shall likewise be furnished to the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and the Office of the Court Administrator for circulation to all courts concerned.
Per Registry Return Receipt No. 17646, respondent received (without indicating the date of receipt) the copy of the Resolution dated 6 February 2018.
