REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1264 - AN ACT CONSTITUTING THE SUB-PROVINCE OF SIQUIJOR INTO A SEPARATE, INDEPENDENT AND REGULAR HIGHWAY ENGINEERING DISTRICT, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-ONE HUNDRED FORTY-THREE.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines inJCongress assembled:

SECTION 1. Act Numbered Thirty-one hundred forty-three is amended by adding after section five thereof a new section, to be known as section 5-A, which shall read as follows:

"SEC. 5.-A. Within thirty days after the approval of this amendatory Act, the Sub-province of Siquijor shall b constituted and organized into a separate, independent and regular highway engineering district similar to existing engineering districts, for which a district engines shall be assigned in accordance with the laws, rules and regulations applicable thereto."

SEC. 2. The title of said Act is amended to read as follows:

"An Act granting to the Sub-province of Siquijor right to elect a member to represent the interests ot sub-province in the provincial board of Oriental Negros, and constituting said sub-province into a separate, independent and regular highway engineering district.”

SEC. 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
