SUBJECT : SERIES OF SEMINARS ON THE 1997 RULES OF CIVIL PROCEDURE

Pursuant to Section 5(5) of Article VIII of the Constitution, the Supreme Court promulgated the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure to take effect on July 1, 1997 per En Banc Resolution dated April 8, 1997.

To ensure that all Trial Judges are duly informed of the salient features of the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure, the Philippine Judicial Academy (PHILJA), in cooperation with the UP Institute of Judicial Administration (IJA), has scheduled a series of one-day Seminars on said 1997 Rules to be held on the following dates and venues:

Judges of the Metropolitan Trial Courts (NCJR), Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (Regions IV and V)

June 20, 1997 Dagupan City Judges of Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (Regions I, and II and III)

June 24, 1997 Iloilo City (Hotel Del Rio) Judges of Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts, and Municipal Circuit Trial Courts VI, VII and VIII)

June 27, 1997 Cagayan de Oro City Judges of Municipal Trial Courts in Cities, Municipal Trial Courts, Municipal Circuit Trial Courts (Regions IX - XII) and Shari'a Circuit Courts (Regions IX and XII)

The Regional Trial Court and Shari'a District Court Judges, who shall fail to attend the Seminar on May 30, 1997 at Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan, M. M.s the second day of the Philippine Judges Association (PJA) National Convention, may attend the Seminars for First-Level Court Judges scheduled in their respective Judicial Regions above listed.

These Seminars shall be on OFFICIAL BUSINESS with all expenses for travel and accommodation chargeable to the Court.
