AN ACT TO LIMIT THE IMPORTATION OF FOREIGN LEAF TOBACCO

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The importation of foreign leaf tobacco shall be limited to the following schedule:

For 1952—seventy-five per cent of the total importation in 1950.

For 1953—fifty per cent of the total importation in 1950.

For 1954—forty per cent of the total importation in 1950.

Succeeding years—twenty-five per cent of the total importation in 1950.

Provided, however, That nothing herein shall be construed to limit the importation of wrapper leaf tobacco for cigars.

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
