DECLARING 23 MARCH 2005 (WEDNESDAY) A NON-WORKING DAY FOR THE JUDICIARY

WHEREAS, in line with our cherished tradition of proper observance of Holy Week, Proclamation No. 808 was issued by the President of the Philippines on 15 March 2005, declaring 26 March 2005 (Saturday) as a non-working day throughout the country and allowing the public sector, under certain conditions, not to report for work on 23 March 2005 (Wednesday);

WHEREAS, Section 4 thereof encouraged the Judicial Branch of the government to allow its employees not to report for work on 23 March 2005 (Wednesday);

NOW, THEREFORE, conformably with the intent of Proclamation No. 808 giving our people "full and uninterrupted opportunity to ponder on the significance of the Holy Week and to properly observe its traditions with religious fervor," 23 March 2005 (Wednesday) is hereby declared a non-working day for the Judiciary.

The Presiding Justices of the Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, and the Court of Tax Appeals, the Clerk of Court of the Supreme Court (SC), the Court Administrator, the Chief Administrative Officer, and the Chief Public Information Officer of the SC, and the Officers-in-Charge of the Office of Administrative Services and Court Management Office of the Office of the Court Administrator shall see to it that this Administrative Circular is properly disseminated to all officials and employees of the Judiciary.
