SUBJECT: EXEMPTION FROM THE MANDATORY CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION

Quoted hereunder is the letter of the Honorable Justice Carolino C. Grino-Aquino, Chairman, Mandatory Continuing Legal Education, to wit:

"The First Compliance Period of the Mandatory Continuing Legal Education ended on December 31, 2004 . The Rules under Bar Matter No. 850 provide that lawyers working in the Judiciary should apply for exemption. In its meeting of 09 March 2005, the Governing Board RESOLVED that lawyers who have not yet applied for exemption for the First Compliance Period, will, after sixty (60) days from receipt of the Notice of Non-Compliance, be considered delinquent Members of the Bar and will not be allowed to practice their profession. Non- compliant lawyers should pay the Non-Compliance Fee of P1,000.00 on filing of a late application for exemption. "
