SUBJECT : SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. ARTEMIO L. CORPUZ

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the pertinent portion of the Resolution of the Second Division dated 14 October 2013 in Administrative Case No. 6758, entitled "Aida Patacsil v. Atty. Artemio L. Corpuz," to wit:

The Court RESOLVES to ADOPT and APPROVE the findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendations of the Office of the Bar Confidant in the attached Report and Recommendation dated 17 August 2011 (Annex "A") which approved the attached Report [with modification] of the IBP Board of Governors' Notice of Resolution No. XIX-2010-290 dated 16 April 2010 (Annex "B") adopting and approving with modification the Investigating Commissioner's Report dated 5 January 2009 (Annex "C"). Accordingly, the Court SUSPENDS respondent Atty. Artemio L. Corpuz from the practice of law for one (1) year, with a stern warning that a similar offense in the future will be dealt with more severely.

Copy of the said Resolution was delivered on 26 November 2013 to the address of respondent and received by his authorized agent, Felix Ybardoleza.
