SUBJECT : LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR SIX (6) MONTHS OF ATTY. ROSELLER B. AMAZONA

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 25 January 2016 of the Second Division in Administrative Case No. 10276, entitled "Socorro T. Gustillo vs. Atty. Roseller B. Amazona," to wit:

Acting on the urgent motion to lift order of suspension dated 13 November 2015 of respondent Atty. Roseller B. Amazona, praying that the order of suspension meted against him be lifted as he has already fully served the same from 10 April 2015 to 10 October 2015, and submitting certifications from the courts of Cebu City and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Cebu Chapter affirming that he has not appeared in court as counsel since 10 April 2015 up to 10 October 2015, and considering that based on the records and the documents submitted, respondent has already fully served the six-month suspension from the practice of law for the period from 10 April 2015 to 10 October 2015, the Court resolves to GRANT the urgent motion to lift order of suspension dated 13 November 2015 of respondent Atty. Roseller B. Amazona, and to LIFT the order of suspension from the practice of law for six (6) months imposed on respondent per Resolution dated 2 July 2014 and ALLOW him to RESUME his practice of law.

Let this case be considered CLOSED and TERMINATED.

The Court NOTES the Report and Recommendation dated 4 December 2015 of the Office of the Bar Confidant.
