SUBJECT: SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. MELCHOR A. BATTUNG

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunderis the dispositive-portion of-the Decision of the Second Division dated28 September 2011, in Administrative Case No. 8920, entitled "Judge Rene B. Baculi vs. Atty. Melchor A. Battung," to wit:

"WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing, Atty. Melchor A. Battung is found GUILTY of violating Rule 11.03, Canon 11 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, for which he is SUSPENDED from the practice o; law for one (1) year effective upon the finality of this Decision. He is STERNLY WARNED that a repetition of a similar offense shall be dealt with more severely."

In a Resolution dated 11 April 2012, the Court further DENIED the respondent's motion for reconsideration for lack of substantial merit. Respondent received on 29 May 2012 the Resolution dated 11 April 2012.
