SUBJECT Celebration of the 26th National Statistics Month and the 2na Worid Statistics Day

In otservance of Presidential Decree No. 647 (issued September 20, 1990), which deciared the nonti of October of every year as the National Statistics Month, the BiR will celebrate the 26th Nationai 5tatisties (Viorrth (NSM) from October 1 - 31, 2015, which shall be focused on the theme "Pagyamanin t Gamitin Ang Estadistika, Kalusugan Para Sa Lahat Ay Abot-Kamay Na".

The celebration, which will coincide with the 2nd Worid Statistics Day (WSD), shall be observed On Octo ber 2.0, 2015 with the theme "Better data. Better lives", will pursus the following objectives:

To promcte, enharce and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics te the different sectors of the society; and,

To elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.

As the celebration of NSM is a nationwide event, all Revenue Regional and District Offices are regiested to pravide their own NSM streamers that will be displayed at the facade of their respective bui dings throughout the month of October. Revenue personnel may coordinate with the participating agencies in their respective areas for the specific activity(ies) they may wish to be invoived in.

Attached to this Circular are Philippine Statistical Authority Memorandum Circular No. 01-15

(Annex "A"), as wel! as the NSM streamer format (Annex "B"}, for the information and guidance of all

cohcerned.

Ali Bureau offices are encouraged to activeiy participate in the celebration of NSM.
