SUBJECT: LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW OF ATTY. JOSE MA. D. SAAVEDRA

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 29 August 2018 of the First Division in Administrative Case No. 6054, entitled "Mercibel E. Anderson, et al. vs. Atty. Jose Ma. D. Saavedra" to wit:

Acting on the letters dated July 26, 2018 and August 1, 2018 of respondent Atty. Jose Ma. D. Saavedra submitting the required certifications from the IBP Zamboanga-Basilan-Sulu- Tawi-Tawi Chapter, Office of the Executive Judge of both the Municipal Trial Court in Cities and the Regional Court, Zamboanga City, dated July 16, 2018, July 17, 2018 and July 31, 2018, respectively, all affirming that respondent had desisted and ceased from the practice of law and had not appeared in court as counsel from June 17, 2017 to November 14, 2017, the Court resolves to NOTE:

(1) the aforesaid letters; and

(2) the Report dated August 15, 2018 of the Office of the Bar Confidant.

The Court further resolves:

1) to LIFT the order of suspension meted against respondent Atty. Jose Ma. D. Saavedra; and

2) to ALLOW him to RESUME his practice of law.
