SUBJECT : LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW OF ATTY. WILLIAM B. BALAYO

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 15 August 2016 of the Second Division in Administrative Case No. 10605, entitled "Bienvenido T. Canlapan v. Atty. William B. Balayo," to wit:

It appearing that respondent Atty. William B, Balayo has served his suspension from the practice of law from 28 April 2016 until 28 May 2016, having submitted certifications from the different courts in the Province of Albay and from the IBP Albay Chapter affirming that he has not appeared in court as counsel or acted as a lawyer from 28 April 2016 to 28 May 2016, and considering that based on the records and the evidence submitted, respondent has fully served the one- month suspension from the practice of law as mandated in the Resolution dated 17 February 2016, the Court resolves to LIFT the one-month order of suspension from the practice of law imposed on Atty. William B. Balayo, and to ALLOW him to RESUME his practice of law immediately.

Accordingly, respondent's motion to lift one-month suspension order dated 14 June 2016, begging forgiveness from the Court with promise not to commit any violation of the Code of Professional Responsibility or any part of his oath as a lawyer in the future is NOTED WITHOUT ACTION.

The Court NOTES the Report and Recommendation dated 10 August 2016 of the Office of the Bar Confidant.
