SUBJECT : LIFTING OF SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW OF ATTY. GINES N. ABELLANA

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 28 June 2017 of the Special First Division in Administrative Case No. 3452, entitled "Henry Samonte v. Atty. Gines N. Abellana," to wit:

The Court resolves:

(1) to NOTE and consider as SATISFACTORY the compliance of Atty. Gines N, Abellana, praying that the Court admit the thereto attached money orders as payment of the P5,000.00 fine imposed upon him in the Resolution dated September 21, 2016, and that his suspension be now lifted;

(2) to NOTE the payment of court fine by respondent Atty. Gines N. Abellana in the amount of Five Thousand Pesos (P5.000.00), in compliance with the Resolution dated September 21, 2016, as evidenced by the Certification issued by the Cash Collection and Disbursement Division, Fiscal Management & Budget Office, stating the receipt from respondent the Postal Money Order Nos. 13489/10653-54 dated March 3, 2017 amounting to P5.000.00, and OR. No. 0173436-SC-EP dated March 20, 2017;

(3) to CONSIDER as SATISFACTORY the compliance of respondent Atty. Gines N. Abellana with the Resolution dated September 21, 2016, informing the Court of his payment of fine with a request that an order be issued lifting his suspension from the practice of law; and

(4) to NOTE the Report dated March 27, 2017 of the Office of the Bar Confidant.

The Court further resolves to LIFT the suspension of respondent Atty. Gines N. Abellana from the practice of law and he is allowed to RESUME his practice of law effective from notice.
