AUTHORIZING THE ATTENDANCE OF SELECTED SUPREME COURT OFFICIALS AND PERSONNEL TO THE SEMINAR ON THE PHILIPPINE JUDICIARY AND THE ACTION PROGRAM FOR JUDICIAL REFORM (APJR) FOR THE MEDIA IN BAGUIO

Included in the program of activities approved by the Supreme Court for the Public Information Office (PIO) under AM No. 99-4-08-SC, dated August 4, 1999, is the "offer[ing] of periodic workshops or seminars that are designed to inform members of Ihe media about the work of the Court and its procedures

For this reason, the Supreme Court will be holding on April 24, 2006 a seminar in Baguio City for reporters covering the Supreme Court from the Justice and Court Reporters Association (JUCRA) and Justice Reporters' Organization (JUROR) and the Baguio media. An overview on the Court's structure and jurisdiction and a discussion on certain considerations in judiciary-media relations will be presented during the seminar. There will also be a presentation on the E-Library and Justice on Wheels projects under the Action Program for Judicial Reform (APJR) to promote awareness and support for these projects. Finally, the media participants will also be informed about the changes in the Supreme Court website to make it more user-friendly as a source of their media reports.

In view of the foregoing, the following Supreme Court officials and employees are hereby authorized to travel to Baguio on April 23 to 25, 2006 to attend the aforesaid seminar. Their travel shall be on official business and time; hence they are entitled to expense allowance as provided under ertinent rules and regulations.
