SUBJECT : National Savings Consciousness Campaign
The National Commission on Savings (NCS) in collaboration with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) — TIPID Movement, Inc. (TIPID) National Council shall undertake an intensive savings consciousness campaign nationwide to commence from the Savings Consciousness Week (June 30 to July 6, 1999 — under amended Presidential Proclamation No. 380 dated 15 May 1994) to December 1999 onwards.
To ensure successful observance of the Savings Consciousness Week and the national savings consciousness campaign, relevant publicity and attention generating activities shall be conducted. All banking institutions and their branches, therefore, may undertake such activities as raffles, distribution of giveaways, putting up of counter displays, streamers, ad placements and the use of other promotional devices as may be appropriate for this special occasion.
All banking institutions through their respective Associations (BAP, CTB, RBAP, BMAP, BAI-PHIL, etc.) are hereby requested to provide full support, active participation and sponsorships to the various programs, projects and activities to ensure successful and sustainable implementation of the national savings consciousness campaign. The projects and activities may include but not limited to the following: 3.1 Tri-Media publicity. Banks through their respective Associations may provide assistance in the production of campaign materials for TV, radio & cinema and promotion materials. 3.2 Participation of banks in TIPID launchings at the national and local levels and in membership campaign to the TIPID Movement. 3.3 Participation of banks in the TIPID/Savings Workshops, Seminars and Symposium at national & local levels. 3.4 Provide the necessary support and assistance in the conduct of special projects for children such as On-the-Spot Painting Contest, Essay Writing Contest, Individual/School and Level Deposit Generation Competition, Adopt-A-School Program, etc. 3.5 Launch/conduct other relevant projects and activities which are necessary to encourage the general public to save in Banks, to support the savings consciousness campaign and to join in the TIPID Movement.
