SUBJECT:

COMMITMENT OF THE NEWLY CONVICTED FEMALE INMATES OF THE CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION FOR WOMEN (CIW) MINDANAO

The Department of Justice (DOJ) through its Bureau of Corrections has recently established its Correctional Institution Women (CIW) Mindanao in compliance with President Macapagal-Arroyo's directive to set up a correctional facility for women in Mindanao which was formally inaugurated last 18 September 2007.

Pursuant thereto, the DOJ has initially transferred the ninety eight (98) female inmates from its CIW Mandaluyong City to this correctional facility in order to properly address the congestion problem thereat, and likewise to enable the' female offenders coming from the Mindanao areas to 1 be near their respective families.

In view of all the foregoing, you are hereby DIRECTED to COMMIT the newly convicted female inmates to the following:

THE SUPERINTENDENT Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) Mindanao Davao Prison and Penal Farm B.E. Dujali, Davao del Norte

Strict compliance is hereby enjoined.
