RENAMING THE PREQUALIFICATION., EVALULATION AND AWARDS COMMITTEE (PEAC) FOR CONSULTANCY AS BID AND AWARD COMMITTEEE FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES

WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act No. 9184 (Government Procurement Reform Act), the Court issued on 19 March 2004 Administrative Circular No. 11-2004, entitled: Constituting and Strengthening the Prequalification, Evaluation and Awards Committee for Consultancy (PEAC);

WHEREAS, constituted and strengthened, the name of the PEAC was retained, i.e., still retaining the term "Prequalification," which is a term used to be part of the procurement procedure for consulting services;

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9184 has substituted the prequalification procedure with the process of eligibility check and the post qualification procedure; accordingly, the term "prequalification" should be deleted from the name of the Committee;

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing and also to distinguish it from the Bid and Award Committee for construction and infrastructure projects, the Prequalification, Evaluation and Awards Committee for Consultancy (PEAC) is hereby renamed BID AND AWARD COMMITTEE FOR CONSULTANCY SERVICES (BACCS).

This Administrative Circular shall take effect upon its issuance.
