SUBJECT : SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. JAMES JOSEPH GUPANA

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the dispositive portion of the Resolution of the Third Division dated 24 July 2013 in Administrative Case No. 6109, entitled "Erlinda Piala vda. de Inot, et al. v. Atty. James Joseph Gupana," to wit:

ACCORDINGLY, the Court SUSPENDS Atty. James Joseph Gupana from the practice of law for one (1) year, with a WARNING that a repetition of the same or similar offense will warrant a more severe penalty. Let copies of this Resolution be furnished all courts, the Office of the Bar Confidant and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines for their information and guidance. The Office of the Bar Confidant is DIRECTED to append a copy of this Resolution to respondent's record as member of the Bar.

In a Resolution dated 3 February 2014, the Court DENIED with FINALITY the respondent's motion for reconsideration for lack of merit. Respondent received on 20 March 2014 the said Resolution dated 3 February 2014.
