SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF ATTY. ROMEO CALUBAQUIB FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR TWO (2) YEARS AND REVOCATION OF HIS NOTARIAL COMMISSION AND PERPETUAL DISQUALIFICATION FROM BEING COMMISSIONED AS NOTARY PUBLIC

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Decision dated 1 August 2017 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 10562, entitled "Jean Marie S. Boers v. Atty. Romeo Calubaquib," to wit:

WHEREFORE, in view of the foregoing, we AFFIRM WITH MODIFICATION Resolution No. XX-2014-136 of the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. We impose on Calubaquib the penalty of SUSPENSION for TWO (2) YEARS from the practice of law effective upon finality of this Decision. Further, Calubaquib's notarial commission is REVOKED and he is PERPETUALLY DISQUALIFIED from being commissioned as a notary public. Calubaquib is also STERNLY WARNED that a repetition of the same or similar acts will be dealt with more severely.

Per Registry Return Receipt No. 26705, respondent received a copy, of the aforesaid Decision on 25 September 2017 at his residence at Patrias Bldg.,Rizal St., 3500 Tuguegarao City, Cagayan. To date, respondent did not file a motion for reconsideration.
