LETTER OF MANUEL G. ROXAS, M, D., M.P H {UNDERSECRETARY OF HEALTH FOR PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES), VICE-CHAIRMAN AND PRESIDING OFFICER OF THE DANGEROUS DRUGS BOARD, DATED MAY 28, 1993

Quoted hereunder .for. the information and guidance of all concerned, is the letter of Manuel G; Roxas, M, D. , H.F.H., Undersecretary of Health for Public Health Services, Vice-Chairman and Presiding Officer of the Dangerous Drugs Board to the undersigned dated May 28, 1993, to wit:

Sir:

Please be informed that the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDE) has issued an ORDER, dated 25 May 1993, pursuant to Section 36(a), Article IX of Board Regulation No, 5, S. 1991, in relation to. Section 36in), Article VIII of RA 6425, 'as amended, directing the ANTI-NARCOTICS RESEARCH AND REFORMATION NETWORK (ANRREN) to CEASE and DESIST operation of its Treatment and Rehabilitation Center located at Barangay Mambugan, Antipole, Risal, with extension office at Karangalan Village, Pasig, Metro .Manila, for failure to comply with certain requirements of Board Regulation No. 5, S. 1991., which prescribes the rules and regulations governing Treatment and Rehabilitation Centers in the Philippines.

Im view of the foregoing, may we most respectfully request that all Regional Trial Courts in the country be duly advised not to refer drug dependent patients to the aforementioned Rehabilitation Center, in pusuance of Sections 30 and 31, Article VI of RA 6425, as amended, which provide, respectively, for voluntary submission and compulsory submission and submission of drug dependent persons for treatment and rehavbilitation., until such time that the said Center shall have fully complied with the legal requirements of the Board.

Kindly find enclosed for ready reference, a copy each of Republic Act No. 6425, as amended, and Board Regulation No. 5, S. 1991.
