Your attention is hereby invited to the letter dated 14 January 2005 of Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Ma. Merceditas N. Gutierrez to the Chief Justice, which is quoted hereunder:

"The present administration is accelerating its campaign against graft and corruption. Recognizing the invaluable role of the judiciary in this fight, we are seeking the assistance of the courts in the speedy disposition of graft and corruption cases . "
