SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. REX J.M.A. FERNANDEZ FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR NINE (9) MONTHS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 20 April 2016 of the Second Division in Administrative Case No. 10313, entitled "Meriam G. Balagtas v. Atty. Rex J.M.A. Fernandez," to wit:

WHEREFORE, respondent Atty. Rex J.M.A. Fernandez is hereby further SUSPENDED from the. practice of law for six (6) months. Respondent shall serve a total of nine (9) months of suspension from the practice of law, effective upon service on respondent of a copy of this Resolution.

Upon the expiration of the period of suspension, respondent must file:

(1) a sworn statement before this Court, through the Office of the Bar Confidant, stating that he has fully served the nine (9)-month suspension from the practice of law; and

(2) certifications from the Office of the Executive Judge of the court where he practices his profession and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Local Chapter where he is affiliated, affirming that he has ceased and desisted from the practice of law and has not appeared in court as counsel during the period of his suspension.

Respondent received the Resolution dated 20 April 2016 on 15 June 2016.
