Conversion of STANDARD CHARTERED BANK (SCB), PHILIPPINES into a universal bank
CIRCULAR LETTER Series of 2001
To : All Banks and Non-Bank Financial Institutions with Quasi-Banking Functions
The Monetary Board, in its Resolution No. 162 dated February 1, 2001, approved the conversion of STANDARD CHARTERED BANK (SCB), PHILIPPINES into a universal bank.
The Certificate of Authority to operate as a universal bank was issued and signed by the Governor on June 20, 2001.
The bank started operations as a universal bank on July 16, 2001.
