SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. DANILO TIU FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR THREE (3) MONTHS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 14 November 2016 of the First Division in Administrative Case No. 8308, entitled " Hermelina Ida Ma. D. Olivares v. Atty. Danilo Tiu, " to wit:

The Court resolves to NOTE the Notice of Resolution No. XIX-2010-602 dated October 9, 2010 of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Board of Governors which reversed the report and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner dated May 8, 2010 and instead approved the findings of guilt for misconduct of respondent Atty. Danilo Tiu as recommended by the current Board of Governors in its extended Resolution dated November 23, 2015 and imposed upon him the penalty of suspension from the practice of law for three (3) months, transmitted by letter dated September 2, 2016 of Assistant Director Leo B. Malagar, Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Commission on Bar Discipline, together with the records and compact disc containing the PDF file of the case.

The Court further resolves to ADOPT and APPROVE the recommendation of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines' Board of Governors in the Notice of Resolution No. XIX-2010-602 dated October 9, 2010 (Annex "A"). Accordingly, respondent Atty. Danilo Tiu is found guilty of misconduct and is hereby SUSPENDED from the practice of law for three (3) months effective from notice hereof.

Respondent received a copy of the Resolution dated 14 November 2016 on 6 January 2017.
