REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9220 - AN ACT UPGRADING THE ALBAY SUBDISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE INTO A REGULAR DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE TO BE KNOWN AS THE ALBAY SECOND DISTRICT ENGINEERING OFFICE AND APPROPRIATION FUNDS THEREFOR

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. The Albay Subdistrict Engineering Office as hereby upgraded into a regular engineering district office. It shall be known as the Albay Second Engineering District and shall be located in the Municipality of Polangui, Province of Albay. Subsequently, the existing engineering district office located at the airport site, Legaspi City shall be known as the Albay First District Engineering Office.

SEC. 2. The Albay Second Engineering District shall assume jurisdiction over infrastructure and public works in all the barangays, municipalities and cities of the Third Congressional District of Albay. Consequently, the Albay First Engineering Office shall assume the same jurisdiction in all the barangays, municipalities and cities of the First and Second Congressional Districts of Albay.

SEC. 3. The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways shall include in its program the funding requirements for the operationalization of the Albay Second District Engineering Office in the year following its enactment into law and thereafter.

SEC. 4. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
