SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. LEONARDO E. JIZ FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR THREE (3) MONTHS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 19 September 2011 of the Second Division in Administrative Case No. 5349, entitled "Melgre Granada v. Atty. Leonardo E. Jiz," to wit:

The Court NOTES the Notice of Resolution No. XVIII- 2007-100 dated 19 September 2007 and Notice of Resolution No. XIX-2011-211 dated 14 May 2011 of the IBP of Governors which adopted and approved the report and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner finding the same to be fully supported by the evidence on record and the applicable laws and rules and suspended respondent from the practice of law for three (3) months for violations of the lawyer's oath and Rule 10.01, Canon 10 of the Code of Professional Responsibility and denied respondent's motion for reconsideration there being no cogent reason to reverse the findings of the Commission, respectively, both transmitted by letter dated 30 June 2011 of Director Alicia A. Risos-Vidal, IBP Commission on Bar Discipline, together with the records of the case.

The Court resolves to ADOPT and APPROVE the findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendation of the Investigating Commissioner in the attached Report dated 17 April 2007 (Annex "A") as approved by the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in the three (3) months for violations of the lawyer's oath and Rule 10.01, Canon 10 of the Code of Professional Responsibility.

Respondent received the a copy of the Resolution on 3 November 2011.
