[ SC CIRCULAR NO. 2-98, January 09, 1998 ]
OFFICE OF THE COURT OF ADMINISTRATOR
9 January 1998
TO :
All Judges of the Regional Trial Courts
SUBJECT: Closure of the Anti-Narcotics and Reformation Network, Inc. (ANRREN)
This Office has been informed, through a letter dated 23 December 1997 from the Acting Chairman of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), that pursuant to a Resolution dated 20 March 1997 of the said Board, a Cease and Desist Order had been issued against the Anti-Narcotics and Reformation Network, Inc. (ANRREN), a private drug treatment and rehabilitation center located at Pasig City, on the ground that it has been operating without the appropriate accreditation or permit to operate duly issued by the DDB. Subsequently, on 20 December 1997, the closure of ANRREN was effected owing to its continued defiance of the Cease and Desist Order.
The Dangerous Drugs Board has requested that the courts involved be asked to stop ordering the confinement of any drug dependent for treatment and/or rehabilitation to the ANRREN.
The foregoing considered, all judges concerned are hereby directed to refrain from ordering the confinement of any drug dependent for treatment and/or rehabilitation to the Anti-Narcotics and Reformation Network, Inc.
For strict compliance.
