SUBJECT : SUSPENSION OF ATTY. EMELIE P. BANGOT, JR. FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR FIVE (5) YEARS
For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Decision dated 5 October 2016 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 8494, entitled "Spouses Emilio and Alicia Jacinto v. Atty. Emelie P. Ban got, Jr.," to wit:
WHEREFORE, this Court FINDS and HOLDS respondent ATTY. EMELIE P. BANGOT, JR. guilty of violation of the Lawyer's Oath and of the Code of Professional Responsibility; SUSPENDS him from the practice of law for five (5) years effective upon notice of this decision, with warning that sterner sanctions will be meted on him for a similar offense; and DECLARES that he is not entitled to recover any attorney's fees from the complainants.
Respondent received the copy of the Decision dated 25 October 2016 on 8 November 2016 as stated in his motion for reconsideration dated 10 November 2016.
