SUBJECT :Celebration of the 36th National Statistics Month
the 36th NSM, which will be celebrated under the theme "Accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All", in alignment October is annually observed as the National Statistics Month (NSM). This year marks with the following objectives: Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647 dated September 20, 1990,
a) To promote, enhance, and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and
b) To elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standards of statistics in the country.

Revenue personnel may coordinate with participating agencies in their respective areas regarding the specific activity(ies) in which they intend to be involved in. 2.Objectives
The NSM aims to: a) promote, enhance, and instill nationwide awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society; and b) elicit the cooperation and support of the general public in upgrading the quality and standard of statistics in the country.
Coinciding with the 36th NSM celebration in October 2025, the 16th NCS will be conducted by the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) from 1 to 3 October 2025 to: a) provide a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of statistics and for discussing recent statistical developments and prevailing issues and problems of the PSS;and b)elicit the cooperation and support of statisticians and professionals in related fields from the government, academe, and the private sector toward a more responsive statistical system.
3. Theme
The theme of the 36th NSM and 16th NCS is:
"Accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress: Mobilizing Data for All"
The theme emphasizes the crucial role of data in assessing the country's progress in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG targets; in identifying fast- as well as slow-moving targets; and in providing sound bases for the crafting of programs and interventions for targets where these are most needed.
Data mobilization is an effective intervention in accelerating the SDG Pace of Progress. It transforms granular data into actionable insights that are crucial to crafting programs and evidence-based decision-making, allocating resources, and monitoring progress that can drive innovation in the development of new technologies and solutions to address sDG challenges. By improving the availability,accessibility,and use of data,we can likewise accelerate the Pace of Progress and ensure that no one shall be left behind.
This theme may be translated into other major Philippine languages and dialects. Depending on the focus and direction of its statistical activities, an agency or region may choose to have its own sub-theme.
4 Suggested activities
The observance of the NSM will be highlighted by a diverse range of month-long statistical activities. These activities may be in various formats including symposia, workshops, orientation seminars, exhibits, slide shows, webinars, conferences, podcasts, quizzes/contests (such as poster making. jingle making, statiktok and photography contest), outdoor activities (such as fun run, biking), audio-visual presentations, streamers, dashboards, and other digital display as well as publication of statistical reports, indicators,and other RureaL OFinterwa reven Page 2 of 6

relevant information, among others, with particular emphasis on statistics, the theme and the agency's/region's sub-theme, if any.

5. Coordination of activities at the national level
To oversee and coordinate the implementation of the various activities and programs to be undertaken during the month-long celebration, the Steering Committee for the 36th NSM and 16th NCS has been established, with composition as follows:

Various subcommittees with specific terms of reference have also been established, with the PSA as Chair. The PSA shall provide secretariat support to the Steering Committee and subcommittees.
6. Coordination of activities at the local level
For the regional NSM celebration, the Regional Statistics Committees (RSCs) are hereby designated as the coordinating bodies for all NSM activities, to include spearheading the conduct of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies in collaboration with the identified host agencies. The PSA Regional Statistical Services Offices shall provide technical and administrative support to their respective RSCs.
Likewise, the RSCs are enjoined to support the conduct of NCS by encouraging participation from regional line agencies, LGUs, academic institutions, and the private sector. Furthermore, RsCs shall facilitate the dissemination of information about the Ncs within their respective regions which involves distributing the call for papers, registration details, program schedules, and other relevant materials to potential participants.

7.Funds for 36th NSM activities and 16th NCS
7.1 36th NSM Activities
Participating agencies shall provide funds for their NSM activities from their respective agency's/organization's budget. As may be necessary, agencies shall be requested to organize/host or share the costs with the PSA in the conduct of NSM interagency activities.

7.2 16th NCS
Other than as secretariat, guest, speaker or presenter, participation in the 16th Ncs may take any or: all of these forms: 1) registered participant/attendee; 2) sponsor; or 3) exhibitor. A trust account solely for Ncs purposes will be opened and funds collected from sponsorships. exhibition, and registration/participation fees will be deposited in this account. The PSA is hereby designated to administer the NCS funds.
7.2.1 Participation in the 16th NCS as Registered Participant

7.2.2 Participation in the 16th NCS as Sponsor
Participating agencies/organizations are reguested to sponsor plenary and/or breakout scientific sessions. The 16th NCS will feature a diverse range of sessions focusing on critical sectoral topics providing a valuable platform for in-depth discussions and knowledge sharing. Sponsorship will not only provide crucial financial support for the Convention but also offers an opportunity for agencies and organizations to showcase their commitment to the advancement of statistics in specific sectors.
