ATTENDANCE OF THE DEPUTY COURT ADMINISTRATORS IN THE OPEN HOUSE OF HALLS OF JUSTICE AND COURTS NATIONWIDE AND SUSPENSION OF ALL COURT SESSIONS OF THE PARTICIPATING COURTS ON 19 SEPTEMBER 2005
WHEREAS, the Office of the Court Administrator has been assigned to plan and oversee the Open House of Halls of Justice and Courts Nationwide, a one-day activity to coincide with the celebration of the National Law Day on 19 September 2005. Under the plan, multiple-sala courts will be opened on that day to visitors, especially elementary and high school students who wish to familiarize themselves with the visible symbols of the justice system and the role that the courts play as last bulwarks of democracy, protectors of the rule of law, and guardians of the people's rights and freedom;
WHEREAS, to ensure an effective implementation of the said activity, the Court Administrator has recommended the adoption of certain measures.
NOW, THEREFORE, as recommended by the Court Administrator, on 19 September 2005
1. All court proceedings of participating courts shall be suspended.
The Judges should see to it that their respective court calendars are properly managed and that parties are notified in advance of the cancellation of hearings.
2. The Deputy Court Administrator exercising jurisdiction over the participating courts shall attend the Open House of the halls of justice involved in the said project and ensure that all activities relative thereto are properly carried out.
All heads of offices shall ensure that no other activity or program conflicts with the attendance of the judges, court officials, or employees for th Open House project shall be scheduled on 19 September 2005. Any other activity or program scheduled for that day should be reset to another date.
This Administrative Circular shall take effect upon its issuance.
