SUBJECT : SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR FOUR (4) MONTHS OF ATTY. ROGER Z. REYES

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution of the First Division dated 19 August 2015 in Administrative Case No. 10225 entitled "Fatima D. McKinstry vs. Atty. Roger Z. Reyes," to wit:

The Report dated August 19, 2015 of the Office of the Bar Confidant recommending that the instance case be now submitted for final resolution of the Court considering that per their records as of August 19, 2015, there was no motion for reconsideration or petition for review filed by either of the parties is NOTED.

The Court RESOLVES to ADOPT and APPROVE the findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendation of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in the attached Resolution dated February 13, 2013. Accordingly, the Court finds respondent Atty. Roger Z. Reyes GUILTY of violating Canon 17 of the Code of Professional Responsibility for failure to exercise due diligence to his client's cause. He is thus meted with the penalty of SUSPENSION for a period of four (4) months with a STERN WARNING that a repetition of the same or similar act shall be dealt with more severely.

Respondent received this Resolution on 16 November 2015.
