SUBJECT: LIFTING THE ORDER OF DISQUALIFICATION FROM BEING COMMISSIONED AS NOTARY PUBLIC OF ATTY. JIMMY P. BALIGA
For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the Resolution dated 20 February 2017 of the Second Division in Administrative Case No. 5377, entitled "Victor C. Lingan vs. Attys. Romeo Calubaquib and Jimmy P. Baliga," to wit:
Acting on the urgent motion of respondent Atty. Jimmy P. Baliga for the lifting of the Order of Suspension as Notary Public dated 3 January 2017, with attached certifications from the Office of Clerk of Court, Regional Trial Court, Carig, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cagayan Chapter, both dated 9 January 2017, affirming that respondent Atty. Baliga has not been commissioned as notary public for the years 2014 to 2016, and considering that in the Resolution dated 24 February 2016, the Court has lifted the order of suspension from the practice of law of respondent Atty. Baliga as he has fully served a total of one (1) year and six (6) months suspension from the practice of law and allowed him to resume his practice of law; that in his urgent motion for the lifting of the Order of Suspension as Notary Public, respondent Atty. Baliga prays for the lifting of the order of his disqualification from being commissioned as notary public as he has already fully served the two-year disqualification starting 1 August 2014 to 1 August 2016, and it appearing that based on record and evidence submitted, Atty. Baliga has already fully served the two-year period of disqualification from being commissioned as notary public for the years 2014-2016, the Court resolves to LIFT the order of disqualification from being commissioned as notary public of respondent Atty. Jimmy P. Baliga.
