DIRECTING THE ATTENDANCE AND PARTICIPATION OF ATTY. ANNA-LI PAPA-GOMBIO TO THE MASTER OF ADMINISTRATIVE LAW AND POLICY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY IN NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA, UNDER THE PAHRDF-SC PARTNERING AGREEMENT
Whereas, the Philippines-Australia Human Resource Development Facility (PAHRDF) has chosen the Supreme Court (SC) as one of its targeted institutions in the Philippines to be a recipient of both short-term and long-term scholarships and training programs offered by the Australian government through the PAHRDF which are primarily aimed at improving the capacity of the SC to help alleviate poverty and contribute towards a sustainable and equitable development;
Whereas, pursuant to the Partnering Agreement entered into by the SC and the PAHRDF, the latter agreed to provide specific funding support to the approved short-term and long-term scholarships and trainings, and the SC, to support the implementation of these activities under the terms and conditions set forth in the Agreement;
Whereas, in the Resolution dated February 1, 2007 of the Personnel Development Committee (PDC), Hon. Chief Justice Reynato S. Puno approved the nomination of Atty. Anna-Li Papa - Gombio, Court Attorney VI, Office of the Clerk of Court (OCC), to the Master of Administrative Law and Policy at the University of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, for the School Year 2007-2008;
Whereas, in a letter dated May 16, 2007, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), transmitted to the Court the Note Verbale No. 188/07 dated May 11, 2007 of the Australian Embassy informing that Atty. Gombio has been accepted by the University of Sydney to the said course;
Whereas, while the Note Verbale indicated that the course will cover the period July 23, 2007 to July 31, 2008, Atty. Gombio will have to attend an Introductory Academic Programme (IAP) from June 12, 2007 to July 6, 2007 to familiarize herself with the Australian academic system, and is scheduled to leave on June 7, 2007;
NOW, THEREFORE, authority is hereby granted to Atty. Anna-Li Papa-Gombio to attend the above long-term training course in Australia covering the period from June 7, 2007 to July 31, 2008 on OFFICIAL TIME.
Any communication relating to the course should be addressed to Atty. Eden T. Candelaria, Deputy Clerk of Court and Chief Administrative Officer, and Chairperson, Personnel Development Committee (PDC).
