SUBJECT : REVOCATION OF NOTARIAL COMMISSION AND PROHIBITED FROM REAPPOINTMENT AS NOTARY PUBLIC FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. ANTONIO R. STA. ANA

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the dispositive portion of the Resolution of the First Division dated 15 January 2014 in Administrative Case No. 3831, entitled "Roger C. Prioreschi vs. Attys. Antonio R. Sta. Ana, Jose A. Perello, and Pedro S. Ravelo" to wit:

The Court further resolves to ADOPT and APPROVE the findings of fact, conclusions of law, and recommendations of the Investigating Commissioner in the attached Report dated October 23, 2009 (Annex "A") as approved by the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in the IBP Board Resolution dated December 29, 2012 (Annex "B"). Accordingly:

(1) the complaint against respondents Attys. Antonio R. Sta. Ana, Jose A. Perello, and Pedro S. Ravelo is DISMISSED for lack of merit; (2) respondent Atty. Antonio R. Sta. Ana's Notarial Commission, if still existing, is IMMEDIATELY REVOKED; and (3) respondent Atty. Antonio R. Sta. Ana is PROHIBITED from being commissioned as Notary Public for one (1) year from notice hereof for lack of diligence in the performance of his duty as Notary Public.

In a Resolution dated 28 July 2014, the Court NOTED the unserved copies of the aforesaid Resolution and CONSIDERED as SERVED the same. To date, verification from the IBP, there is no record that respondent Atty. Antonio R. Sta. Ana has died.
