SUBJECT: SUSPENSION OF ATTY. JOSE B. ALVAREZ, SR. FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR TWO (2) YEARS

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the dispositive portion of the Resolution dated 12 February 2019 of the Court En Banc in Administrative Case No. 12405, entitled "Elma E. Corro vs. Atty. Jose B. Alvarez, Sr.," to wit:

WHEREFORE , for his failure to account for and return the money of complainant Elma E. Corro at the time of demand, in clear violation of Canons 15 and 16, Rules 16.01 and 16.03 of the Code of Professional Responsibility, the Court hereby RESOLVES to ADOPT the findings and recommendations of both the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Investigating Commissioner and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Board of Governors by SUSPENDING respondent Atty. Jose B. Alvarez, Sr. from the practice of law for two (2) years.

Let copies of this Resolution be furnished to all the courts, the Office of the Bar Confidant, and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines for their information and guidance. The Office of the Bar Confidant is directed to append a copy of this Resolution to respondent's record as member of the Bar.

As per Registry Return Receipt No. 23418, respondent received the aforesaid Resolution on 29 March 2019. Respondent did not file a motion for reconsideration.
