SUBJECT: SUSPENSION FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF ATTY. RICHARD V. FUNK

For your information and guidance, quoted hereunder is the portion of the Decision of the Third Division dated 15 August 2012, in Administrative Case No. 9094, entitled "Santos Ventura Hocorma Foundation, Inc., represented by Gabriel H. Abad vs. Atty. Richard V. Funk," to wit:

"WHEREFORE, the Court AFFIRMS the resolution of the Board of Governors of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines dated April 15, 2010 and June 26, 2011 and SUSPENDS Atty. Richard Funk from the practice of law for one year effective immediately. Serve copies of this decision upon the Office of the Court Administrator for dissemination, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, and Office of the Bar Confidant so the latter may attach its copy to his record."

In a Resolution dated 22 October 2012, the Court DENIED with FINALITY the respondent's motion for reconsideration thereof as no substantial matters were raised to warrant its consideration. In a Resolution dated 25 February 2013, the Court further DENIED for lack of merit the respondent's second motion for reconsideration and ruled that no further pleadings or motions shall be entertained.
